Within each local authority, it is required for there to be a Safeguarding Adult Board (SAB) as detailed in the Care Act 2014.

Southampton Safeguarding Adults Board (SSAB) is group of agencies that come together to co-ordinate work to safeguard and promote the welfare of adults in our city. The main objective of the SSAB is to assure itself that local safeguarding arrangements and partners act to help and protect adults at risk of harm in Southampton. It also aims to ensure that safeguarding activities are of a high quality and in line with the Care Act 2014.

Southampton’s Safeguarding Adults Board is a partnership of organisations including, Southampton City Council, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary, Southampton City Integrated Care Board as well as different agencies that work with adults with care and support needs.
